Interactive Science Journals for Young Learners

I am so excited to have finished my Interactive Science Journal Pack for young Learners.  This baby is stuffed full of a million different science prompts, pictures, activities and more!

I am so happy to be done with this huge project, because I just found out I am going to be working from home starting next week.  This will be a totally new adventure, but I'll explain that in a later post.
Click the picture to check it out!!!

I plan to do a few posts later on about some of the activities individually.  I promise this is one pack that is worth the $$$.  I wish I had this four years ago.  Many schools are dismissing science.  If we do this, what will happen to the doctors, lab techs, nurses, etc..?  This pack helps you bring science into the classroom while still including ELA.

If you're still with me........
I'd like to offer you a sample page from the pack.  You can use it when introducing how to use the hand lens/magnifying glass.

You can grab this little freebie by clicking the picture below.
Here's what it might look like in their Science journals:

I hope you have had a wonderful week!
Leave me some love if you grab my freebie.

Happy Friday!!!!

Throwback Thursday

I've decided to link up with The First Grade Parade for Throwback Thursday.  I've been wanting to share some things I always do during color week as a kinder teacher.  So, Throwback Thursday is the perfect way to do that!

I originally wrote this post about this time last year.  Here are a few pictures from color week.  You can find some of these activities and more in my Crazy for Color Words Pack!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you found some fun ideas for teaching colors and color words.

Be a Good Listener Anchor Chart- Freebie!!!

You think kids come to school knowing how to walk in line, sit quietly, stand in the hall, go through the cafeteria line, listen when someone is talking, etc...  But-- they don't!  You have to train your kiddos to do all of this and so much more.

This is an anchor chart I created for you guys to grab as a freebie!  Print the pictures and words off, add them to some chart paper, and laminate if you wish.

The first month or so of school you spend sooooo much time going over procedures and rules.  Sometimes, we forget some of the simplest things we need to discuss with our kiddos.  Keep this chart up for a few months or all year if needed. You can refer back to it at any time and ask your kiddos if they are being a good listener.

Click the picture below to grab your freebie!

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave me a comment if you grab it.

Saturday Snapshots!

I'm linking up with Mrs. Nelson for Saturday Snapshots!

Here are a few moments I captured this week.

Hanging out with daddy before bed.

We are practicing sitting up and reading!  She is gifted.. lol!!!

We went to the Wilson County Fair last night.  It was a bit overwhelming... especially with a baby.  However, she was great! She stayed wide awake until on our way home at 10pm.. crazy girl!

I've been working on an Interactive Science Journal for Young Learners.  I cannot wait to get it in my store and share it with you guys!  It will be an EXCELLANT resource with any science curriculum!

I also made this adorable anchor chart on being a good listener.  Check back later this week to see how you can grab this freebie!

Happy Saturday!!!!

My 1st Linky---Back to School Bulletin Board Showcase!!!

Something I always got a little bit giddy about was setting up my first bulletin board of the year.  Almost every year I would buy something new to put up.  However, last year I created something that was Pinterest Inspired! I honestly cannot tell you who pinned it first.. But I fell in love! I bought the paper, a brand new sharpie, the posters, glitter and got to work.  Once I had laminated my new creation, I couldn't wait to display it in the hall for all my new kinders and their parents to see!  Here is the finished product...

We're going to have a BALL in Kindergarten!

Am I the only one who LOVES to create adorable Bulletin Boards???  I think not!

That's what inspired my first LINKY!

I'd love to see what all my other fellow bloggers have created to display outside or inside their room for Back to School.  If I get a decent amount of people to link up-- I will come back and make a collection of BB in another post for you to have as a reference!

Some have to's for Back to School!

Welp, it's Back to School time and you know what that means.. If you aren't already, you're about to be incredibly busy!  Here are a few B2S tips that can help reduce a little of that stress you are about to experience.

Every year before meeting my kiddos I always wondered what they would act like, do they have any allergies, do they know their letters yet, have they been to pre-school, etc...  In my Back to School Pack I have a simple form for parents to fill out at registration, Parent Orientation, or even on the first day of school that will help you get to know their child a little bit.

You should also have a behavior system already up and ready to go the minute every child walks through the door.  If you are using clothespins, magnets, cards-- whatever you use-- keep extras close by.  That way, if you get a new student you're not caught off guard with your jaw to the floor saying ummmm hold on.. while everyone waits for you!
This teacher has a free clip chart on her blog!  It's pretty cute too!!
FREE Chevron Behavior System
Be prepared with something simple and self explanatory for your kids to do when they walk in the room.  It might be blocks, puzzles, a simple sorting activity.  Keep in mind-- you are going to have a lot of parents and children coming in at once.  So, have something simple and easy for them to do!

This is from my Letter or Number Sort pack.  There are also a few of these in my Back to School pack as well.

Make sure to keep an updated transportation list at all times!!!!!  At the beginning of the year, my kids will change their transportation 3-4 times.  If the office calls your room, you should be able to tell them immediately where all your kids can be located- Bus, Car, Van, etc...  Here is a little freebie to help keep track of transportation.

Here are some of my must have products for Back to School:

I hope your week is going great!  Check back tomorrow for my very first LINKY!!!!
