Memory Book Pics!

As promised-- I am sharing pictures of my Memory Books.  I am a big picture-taker, scrapbooker, diyer, etc.. and the list goes on.  I think being creative is a must if you're a teacher!  I always tell the parents these Memory Books are my babies because I do not want to let them go by the end of the year.. (so much hard work)!  I try to make them as the year goes instead of at the very end.. and normally I do about half of them that way.  Of course, as soon as xmas break gets here, I start slacking.. lol.

So drum roll please... Here they are!

Our mascot is the panda-- so I use this fun printer paper!

I just love these little school buses by Diane Hook.  You can find them at any teacher store.  The dots at the top & bottom are paint.

We do our self portrait during our "All about me" unit.  We also do the next page during that time.

Every year the local fire dept comes to our school.  We hear all about fire safety and get to go inside the fire truck!  We also HAVE to take a picture :)

A sample of their writing has to go in their Memory Books! I just love when we do sticker stories.  This sample was done in the fall during our transportation unit.

Who doesn't love the 5 little pumpkins?!?

 The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip!

Here is the adorable turkey handpring and pictures from some holiday fun!

 Wearing our Santa hats!

This page is so much fun to do!  We draw what we think the tooth fairy looks like using a black crayon.  Then, we water color her.  She always turns out so beautiful!

The handprint idea comes from pinterest (of course).

 Easter Egg Hunt

I made the mistake of waiting til the end of the day to take this picture-- I wish you could see how tired they look! hahaha We wore ourselves out at the Zoo!

The die-cuts are from our teacher center we are so blessed with in my county.

Of course I have to tell them how much I love & adore them!!!

And finally, the autographs page.  We use all different colored markers.  It turns out pretty stinkin cute!

Welp, that's all folks.  I hope you are inspired to create one next year.  Both the kids and parents are ooohing & ahhing over them! You will not be sorry you made them!

Kindergarten Graduation and Summer!!!

My school does not do a school-wide K graduation.  So, ever since my 1st year (I decided it was a must) I have been throwing a party for my Kinders in my classroom!  My wonderful EA helped me decorate (so I can't take all the credit).  Of course every year, I wonder why I decided to do it; this is the part of the year when everyone is going bonkers (myself included)!  But of course it was a success!  I give my kiddos a memory book at the end-- which is my favorite part!  I think next year I may attempt to add a slideshow to the mix.. but we shall see.

So, here are some snapshots before the show went down!

I will share pictures from a memory book later this weekend.  I have to edit them first and my computer is being weird..

So, this is it for now!  School is out for me, and I am currently brain-dead!    I plan on adding some things to my tpt store (I did add a Chicka Chicka pack to use in the fall).  But first-- I must do nothing school related, and enjoy the fact that Report Cards are finished, my classroom is packed up, and I do not have to return for almost 2 months!  Ahhhh... I can breath now.  Those of you still in school-- bless your heart!!!

Youtube Linky Party

I've decided to link up with Miss Nelson for the "Favorite Youtube videos for Class" Linky Party!  I love this idea, because I LOVE teaching with youtube!  There are so many fun songs out there; I am excited to see what other teachers have come across.

The first video I wanted to share with you guys is my favorite counting to 100 song.

The next song I want to upload is the alphabet song by Have fun teaching.  The is perfect for beginning, middle & end of the year!

I also LOVE the song Vowel Bat.

To help with subtraction... We love to subtract with a pirate!

And just for fun... We like to go on a bear hunt!

Out of this World Math Journal Prompts

First of all... It's FRIDAY!!! Second of all.. I made it through Field Day!!! What a crazy day... I don't think I need to go into detail-- every teacher understands the phrase: FIELD DAY.

Anywho, today my post is short & sweet.  I did end up created something of my own I could use during our space unit.  I made 10, "Out of this World," math journal prompts.  Each prompt comes with pictures to help your kiddos solve the problem.

Did I mention it was Friday?...

My Summer Bucket List!

Summer Bucket List

I'm linking up with

Miss Kindergarten

&

A Cupcake for the Teacher

for a summer bucket list Linky party!  I've decided I'm a big fan of this linky party because thinking about summer is the only thing getting me through these next 6 days!!! I love my kiddos but wow... the stress level at this point is overwhelming!

Here are a few things I'd love to do this summer:
First, I am going to the beach in June.  CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!

While I am at the beach, I plan on reading this:
and doing some major relaxing!

Some things I hope to do for school are:

Grab these aprons from Home Depot to make a journal, book, etc... holder.  I might jazz it up a little and add some fabric.  We shall see.
77 cents aprons from Home Depot tied to a chair...independent book bags next year. Great idea for next year! I would totally jazz them up though!;)

Make a few of these, just because!
lego word game

Create a few more items for my TpT store!!!

I'd also like to go to the Farmer's Market more than I did last year,
TIP FOR KEEPING BERRIES FROM GOING MOLDY!! When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you want (though the mixture is so diluted I find you can't taste the vinegar,) and pop in the fridge. The vinegar kills any mold spores and other bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit.

and try a few new recipes.
You'll swear it's like eating raw oatmeal cookie dough...but it's super healthy and packed with protein!

Pesto & Cheese Stuffed Shells

avocado and grilled corn salad with cilantro vinaigrette.

I also REALLY need to organize my scrapebook stuff...
ribbon holder- brilliant!

I apparently have a lot to do this summer... lol.  I think I will start with just relaxing!!!  Happy Hump! We are almost there!!!
