As promised-- I am sharing pictures of my Memory Books. I am a big picture-taker, scrapbooker, diyer, etc.. and the list goes on. I think being creative is a must if you're a teacher! I always tell the parents these Memory Books are my babies because I do not want to let them go by the end of the year.. (so much hard work)! I try to make them as the year goes instead of at the very end.. and normally I do about half of them that way. Of course, as soon as xmas break gets here, I start slacking.. lol.
So drum roll please... Here they are!
Our mascot is the panda-- so I use this fun printer paper!
I just love these little school buses by Diane Hook. You can find them at any teacher store. The dots at the top & bottom are paint.
We do our self portrait during our "All about me" unit. We also do the next page during that time.
Every year the local fire dept comes to our school. We hear all about fire safety and get to go inside the fire truck! We also HAVE to take a picture :)
A sample of their writing has to go in their Memory Books! I just love when we do sticker stories. This sample was done in the fall during our transportation unit.
Who doesn't love the 5 little pumpkins?!?
The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip!
Here is the adorable turkey handpring and pictures from some holiday fun!
Wearing our Santa hats!
This page is so much fun to do! We draw what we think the tooth fairy looks like using a black crayon. Then, we water color her. She always turns out so beautiful!
The handprint idea comes from pinterest (of course).
Easter Egg Hunt
I made the mistake of waiting til the end of the day to take this picture-- I wish you could see how tired they look! hahaha We wore ourselves out at the Zoo!
The die-cuts are from our teacher center we are so blessed with in my county.
Of course I have to tell them how much I love & adore them!!!
And finally, the autographs page. We use all different colored markers. It turns out pretty stinkin cute!
Welp, that's all folks. I hope you are inspired to create one next year. Both the kids and parents are ooohing & ahhing over them! You will not be sorry you made them!
You definitely are inspiring. Oh my gosh, the hard work that must've gone into those... completely amazing!! Thanks for sharing these. This is a must for me to do next year for my little ones! :)

Learning Is Something to Treasure
You are too sweet! And yes it is a lot of work. But if you plan ahead, it won't be hard in the end to put them together!
DeleteI love this!! You did an amazing job! I think you have inspired me to create these next year!!! (I'm hoping to teach in your county next year... if the Teacher Center is the same place I remember going when I was in middle school (it was in my middle school library) I can't wait to use all of those dye cuts!!)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing keepsake for your kiddos! So adorable. :)

I love that you took the extra time to put these together for each child in your class. This is an awesome keepsake that the child can look back on later in life. I wish every Teacher would make these for their classroom children every year. Do you have the instructions and steps and tools to make this please? I would love to put some together for my children this coming year. Thank you for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteI just used regular construction paper. Each page had a theme and it went in order from Aug-May. I added detail such as the school bus, something they painted, and pictures of course to each page. I laminate each page. Then, I bind them together at our teacher center. It's a lot of work, but if you keep up with it through the year, it doesnt take as much time in the end.
DeleteJust googling memory books tonight. Yours in one of the cutest ones I've seen! I'm working on memory books now, and I know they are a ton of work. I know your parents loved them!!! Thanks for sharing these pics!
