My 1st Linky---Back to School Bulletin Board Showcase!!!

Something I always got a little bit giddy about was setting up my first bulletin board of the year.  Almost every year I would buy something new to put up.  However, last year I created something that was Pinterest Inspired! I honestly cannot tell you who pinned it first.. But I fell in love! I bought the paper, a brand new sharpie, the posters, glitter and got to work.  Once I had laminated my new creation, I couldn't wait to display it in the hall for all my new kinders and their parents to see!  Here is the finished product...

We're going to have a BALL in Kindergarten!

Am I the only one who LOVES to create adorable Bulletin Boards???  I think not!

That's what inspired my first LINKY!

I'd love to see what all my other fellow bloggers have created to display outside or inside their room for Back to School.  If I get a decent amount of people to link up-- I will come back and make a collection of BB in another post for you to have as a reference!

Some have to's for Back to School!

Welp, it's Back to School time and you know what that means.. If you aren't already, you're about to be incredibly busy!  Here are a few B2S tips that can help reduce a little of that stress you are about to experience.

Every year before meeting my kiddos I always wondered what they would act like, do they have any allergies, do they know their letters yet, have they been to pre-school, etc...  In my Back to School Pack I have a simple form for parents to fill out at registration, Parent Orientation, or even on the first day of school that will help you get to know their child a little bit.

You should also have a behavior system already up and ready to go the minute every child walks through the door.  If you are using clothespins, magnets, cards-- whatever you use-- keep extras close by.  That way, if you get a new student you're not caught off guard with your jaw to the floor saying ummmm hold on.. while everyone waits for you!
This teacher has a free clip chart on her blog!  It's pretty cute too!!
FREE Chevron Behavior System
Be prepared with something simple and self explanatory for your kids to do when they walk in the room.  It might be blocks, puzzles, a simple sorting activity.  Keep in mind-- you are going to have a lot of parents and children coming in at once.  So, have something simple and easy for them to do!

This is from my Letter or Number Sort pack.  There are also a few of these in my Back to School pack as well.

Make sure to keep an updated transportation list at all times!!!!!  At the beginning of the year, my kids will change their transportation 3-4 times.  If the office calls your room, you should be able to tell them immediately where all your kids can be located- Bus, Car, Van, etc...  Here is a little freebie to help keep track of transportation.

Anchor Chart Linky!

Don't you just love anchor charts?!?  Well, I do!  So, I was eager to link up with First Grade Fabulosity to share some of my favs!

Since we are all thinking of Back to School.. I always do something about colors during my All About Me unit.  We love to graph our favorite colors in Kindergarten!

And we also talk about our 5 senses!

Then, a little while later we learn to stretch out words!!!  I laminated this chart so I could use it every year!  The kids just use a dry erase marker to write on it and then it wipes right off!  It's the little things.. :)

And of course we have to include some hands on Anchor Charts!  I love to ask a question and allow my kids to either draw their answer on sticky notes or index cards.  That way, EVERYONE is the participating and held accountable for their learning!

The last Anchor Chart I will share today comes from Kim Adsit's blog. She has the pieces for the chart on her blog for free!  This was a huge help when explaining to my kiddos what it meant to do opinion writing- blah!

That's all for now!  Don't forget to link up and share your Anchor Charts!!!  Sharing is Caring!

Happy Monday!

August Currently!!!

This time of year brings anxiety, excitement, and lots of emotions.. Well, at least it had for the last four years.  I do have a little anxiety and a tad bit of mixed emotions about not going back.. BUT, I have been given the greatest blessing a mom could ever ask for- I get to stay home!! So, my "current" situation is a little different than most people!  I will continue to make products that I think are beneficial, because I plan on returning to the classroom in a few years.  So, keep checking in on me- because I promise I will have some great stuff coming soon!

Anyway, I will say--- it is hard to believe it is already August.  Man, summer goes faster every year!  My sweet girl just turned 6 months old.  Can you believe it??? Me either!  Of course, I have to add some picture love of my baby girl.

I had to link up to Farley's Currently!!!  I just can't resist!  I'm not great about getting on blogger now that I am home.. (I'm trying to work on that).  But, I always seem to find time to link up with her!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  And to all my teacher friends going back to school on Monday- at least it's tax free weekend.. go stock up on glue sticks!!!!

Summer Fun!

Summer as flown by!! My husband and I recently decided that I would stay home this next year.  I'm incredibly excited, but also a little nervous.  I'm sorry I haven't been blogging very much this summer.  I hope to pick it back up!  I have had a pretty busy summer.. We traveled, I'm still working on my masters, and I had a surgery just recently due to complications during delivery.. I am so thankful to have such a supportive husband by my side.  Today is our 5th anniversary.  I fall more and more in love with him everyday.  Here are a few snapshots of our summer so far.  My next blog post will be about back to school, etc.. I know you guys are on overload right now!  So, I wanted to share something fun!

Here we are going to a friends birthday party-- "White Trash Bash".  Don't you just love the lipstick on my teeth!

We definitely have a water baby!  She loves to splash and play in the water.  Gamma and Gimpa filled up this pool just for her!

Here I am with my sweet girl before going to church.  She is definitely a momma's girl. Love her!

Here we are visiting family in KY.

Hanging out with DaDa on the 4th!

And, my sweetie started eating baby food just recently.  Yummy avocados!  I am making all her baby food myself.  It's actually kind of fun, and it saves lots of money!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  My heart goes out to all my blogger friends that have started setting up their classroom.  Enjoy your last few days!
